I am excited to share Britt and Austin’s engagement session we shot in beautiful Santa Barbara! The newly engaged couple met several years ago through their close friends and were immediately drawn to each other, it was love at first sight.

The pair loves to travel, and their bucket list includes to see as many national parks as possible. They share the love for adventure. The funny thing is that the couple has a special nickname/hashtag that was given to them by their families. The couple backpacked in Arizona twice and both times they got caught up in a severe thunder storm. So now their families jokingly refer to them as #teamthunderandlighting.

But there is more to this adventurous couple. Britt and Austin love to give back to communities inside and outside the U.S. Both of them chose chiropractic care as their professions. They are planning on taking a service trip to Fiji next year to provide chiropractic care in the areas where it’s not easily accesible. They strongly believe in helping patients to empower themselves to lead a healthy lifestyle.

We chose Santa Barbara for the styled shoot because Britt and Austin will say “I do” in SB next year. So it was a perfect place to capture some precious moments the two of them shared. I wanted to find a beautiful location(s) for our session. My admiration for Jeff Shelton’s architecture is immense. So naturally I wanted to utilize all that beauty into the images. After a little search we found El Jardin building. Whimsical with colorful accents, the building meets the criteria of Spanish inspired architecture required by the city of Santa Barbara. Shelton’s architecture reminded me of Casa Batllo located in Barcelona, Spain. Later we came across another Shelton’s building, followed by a trip to Santa Barbara County Courthouse for more pictures. To top off all those pretty location, the beach was our last stop.

Britt dazzled in beautiful flowy maxy dress, while Austin chose charcoal trousers, a stylish blazer and a tie. Later Britt changed into a white “peasant” dress, and Austin wore a blue suite for the beach photos.

Of course we couldn’t have achieved this beautiful shots without all the talent that participated in this session. Special shout out to the great team and vendors who made the shoot possible!
